NYSE moves closer to 24/7 stock trading with four new partners

The New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) has added four transfer-agent partners to its planned tokenized securities platform, expanding the group of companies preparing its blockchain-based trading infrastructure.

    Summary

    • NYSE has added Broadridge, Computershare, Equiniti and Superstate as transfer-agent partners for its planned tokenized securities venue.
    • The four companies join Securitize and tZERO, bringing the exchange’s transfer-agent network to six firms.
    • The proposed platform will support round-the-clock trading, instant settlement and stablecoin-based funding.
    • NYSE intends to support issuer-sponsored securities and third-party custodial tokens with conventional shareholder rights.
    • The venue remains subject to regulatory approval, with no confirmed launch date or initial list of securities.

In a November 2 announcement, the exchange named Broadridge Financial Solutions, Computershare, Equiniti and Superstate as its newest partners. They join Securitize and tZERO, which previously signed agreements to support the proposed venue.

The exchange has not announced when trading will begin or identified the securities expected to become available first. Its plans remain dependent on regulatory approval.

NYSE expands tokenized securities network to six firms

The newly announced agreements bring together traditional transfer agents and companies specializing in blockchain-based financial infrastructure.

Broadridge, Computershare and Equiniti provide recordkeeping and shareholder services to established public companies. NYSE said the three firms collectively serve nearly 5,000 listed businesses, including approximately 99% of S&P 500 companies.

Meanwhile, Securitize, tZERO and Superstate bring experience in digital securities, blockchain recordkeeping and tokenized assets.

Transfer agents maintain records of security ownership, process changes in registered holdings and support shareholder services, including distributions and corporate actions.

Their involvement will help connect issuers’ existing share records with the proposed tokenized trading arrangements.

NYSE Group President Lynn Martin said the exchange remains focused on “protecting and upholding market integrity” as it develops new trading infrastructure.

Broadridge CEO Tim Gokey said the company would combine digital and conventional transfer-agency services for issuers whose securities trade across different systems.

In a separate announcement, Broadridge described plans to provide shareholder governance, proxy voting and transfer-agent services for tokenized equities.

When will the NYSE tokenized platform launch?

NYSE first outlined the platform in January 2026, describing a digital trading venue designed to operate continuously.

The proposed system combines its existing Pillar matching engine with blockchain-based technology for post-trade processing, settlement and custody.

Trading would operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week, with immediate settlement and orders placed in dollar amounts.

Stablecoins would provide another funding method, while the infrastructure would support multiple blockchain networks.

However, the November announcement did not identify which networks or stablecoins the platform will initially support.

The exchange has not disclosed a specific launch quarter or confirmed that regulators have approved the proposed venue.

An earlier partnership with tZERO covered infrastructure development, blockchain patents and potential applications involving digital securities.

NYSE parent Intercontinental Exchange agreed to invest in tZERO during its financing round, although the companies did not disclose the investment amount.

The planned platform will operate separately from conventional NYSE stock trading, with access distributed through participating broker-dealers.

Which tokenized securities will trade first?

NYSE expects its venue to accommodate two categories: issuer-sponsored tokenized securities and third-party custodial tokens.

Issuer-sponsored tokens involve participation by the company whose securities are being represented on a blockchain.

Third-party custodial arrangements involve tokenized securities supported by shares held through custodial infrastructure.

The exchange said both categories would remain fungible with traditionally issued securities, allowing holders to receive the same dividends and governance rights.

Its January announcement identified U.S.-listed equities and exchange-traded funds as intended products.

However, NYSE has not named its initial issuers, securities or ETFs.

Securitize already provides tokenized versions of U.S. stocks through a separate offering on Solana.

In October, the company confirmed 12 tokenized stocks were available to eligible investors, including shares linked to Apple, Nvidia and Tesla.

Those products operate under Securitize’s existing arrangements and have not been identified as initial listings on NYSE’s proposed venue.

The distinction between existing offerings and the exchange’s planned marketplace remains important because the NYSE platform has not opened.

Securitize and Superstate join NYSE infrastructure development

Securitize was among the exchange’s first digital transfer-agent partners, participating in the design of its proposed securities infrastructure.

Carlos Domingo, Securitize’s chairman and CEO, said the company had been selected as NYSE’s first digital transfer agent.

He described the expanding partnership network as part of the industry’s work to bring conventional securities onto blockchain systems.

Superstate CEO Robert Leshner expressed support for cooperation between issuers, exchanges and transfer agents.

“Tokenization is a partnership between issuers, transfer agents, and exchanges,” Leshner said.

The exchange has separately explored distributing tokenized shares through Blockchain.com, under an agreement announced in September.

That arrangement would allow eligible customers to access tokenized equities and ETFs through the planned venue once applicable approvals are obtained.

Neither Securitize nor Superstate has publicly identified the first securities it will support on the NYSE-affiliated platform.

The November 2 announcement did not provide a timetable for issuer onboarding or the first trading session.
